THE Saturdays' Frankie Sandford says she took advice about their Comic Relief single from her pop star boyfriend Dougie Poynter.
Dougie, 21, and his band McFly, released their single All About You for Red Nose Day in 2005 and singer Frankie admits Dougie gave her tips on how to make The Saturdays' song hit the spot.
Frankie, 20, said: "McFly did a good job and got really involved when they released a song for Red Nose Day, and Dougie and I talked about it, absolutely.
"We discussed how it's normal to want to get involved with things, and give it your best. We feel the same and just want to do our bit."
The girls, whose favourite Comic Relief song was Who Do You Think you Are? by the Spice Girls in 1997, admit they feel huge pressure to succeed.
Rochelle Wiseman said: "There is a lot of pressure on us because Comic Relief singles have gone to No.1 in the past and we want to sell enough."
The band, who have already had success with their catchy singles If This Is Love, Up and Issues, popped into the HQ of Who Cares? Scotland yesterday as part of their fundraising efforts.
The independent organisation, based in Glasgow, speak out on behalf of young people who have been or are in care and make them aware of their rights.
Fellow Saturday Vanessa White added: "We do have an easy job and we're inspired to help as many other people as we can. You don't want think about yourself when you are here.
"We are pleased to see as much as we can of the good work that's done and give something back. It's nice to be asked to do this so early on in our careers."
The girls have covered Depeche Mode song Just Can't Get Enough for this year's Comic Relief and reckon their version, released on March 2, is a more up-to-date dance track with a fun edge.
Una Healy said: "It was a really good song when it came out originally in 1981, but ours is a contemporary version.
"We had a Vince Clarke connection when we used the Yazoo sample for our debut single and when he remixed Issues, so we listened to him this time round, too."
The girls say they are hoping to do something "funny for money" on the day, but need some fresh ideas from fans.
Frankie said: "We're trying to come up with something to do that's amusing. If I end up in a bath of baked beans then everyone else will be doing it, too."
The new-style red noses have already proved popular with the bandmembers.
Mollie King said: "We'll be wearing them because they are cute. There are three types to choose from.
They were never as comfy before, these ones are better. It's funny to have one on if you get stuck in a traffic jam."
The band admit they also had a lot of funny moments during the filming of their video for the song.
Frankie said: "We play Fifties pin-up girls in the video and have about 10 different costume changes. We were falling over, a dog pooed on set, and I ended up having popcorn thrown at me."
Vanessa added: "Una got covered in red noses and I had ice cream all over me, but I just licked it off."
The girls can't wait to perform the single live for this year's Red Nose Day, but they admit they are a little superstitious about the date.
Mollie said: "As long as we all do a high five before we go on stage, I am sure everything will be fine."
